A&P Growers is a premiere packer of almonds, pistachios and mixed nuts. They receive nuts
from their own farms and from outside growers. They ship nuts world wide. We developed an
Inventory Tracking system for them that includes:
- Receiving of raw almonds in bins and raw pistachios in bin dump trailers
- Enter data to generate bar-coded bin tags (Grower, Commodity, Variety, etc.)
- Print bin tags, scan tags as moved to warehouse
- Move bins to production lines
- Forklift drivers use bar-code scanners to log all bin moves fro warehouse to
production line, warehouse to warehouse, production line to production line, etc.
- Generate Processing, Final Grading and Pallet tags at production lines
- A bar coded bin tag is generated at the output of every production line.
- QC information logged at Final Grading
- QC information for each bin tag is entered into a PC. The QC information can
be reviewed in the system at any time. QC reports can be generated for growers
- Allocate and pick product for production
- Outside marketing companies can log into A&P’s website to view available
inventory to sell.
- The marketing companies can allocate product for their orders
- A&P then "picks" the product based on allocations, and then generates pick
lists for the forklift operators
- A real time perpetual available to sell inventory is maintained for the
marketing companies
- Stage and Ship Product
- Orders ready to ship are staged near shipping and logged with bar code
scanners
- Pallets of product are loaded on to trucks and the orders are shipped
in the system
- Packing Lists and Bills of Lading are generated from the system
- Product Tracking
- The identity and origin of all product can be traced in the system
- Bin and Pallet Tags are associated with all source tags that go into
them
- Web-based reporting
- Inventory by warehouse and product
- Bin and Pallet Tags, drilling down to source tags
- Product Shipped reports – available to A&P and their marketing
companies
- Yield/Loss Reports at each production line
- Marketing company contracts and allocations
